Article 1077 of the Civil Code stipulates that within thirty days from the date the marriage registration authority receives the application for divorce registration, either party who is unwilling to divorce may withdraw the application from the marriage registration authority. Within thirty days after the expiry of the period specified in the preceding paragraph, both parties shall personally apply to the marriage registration authority for the issuance of a divorce certificate; if no application is made, the application is deemed to have been withdrawn.
