Article 18 of the Interpretation (II) stipulates that the court shall determine the fact that a stepchild has been raised and educated by a stepparent based on the duration of cohabitation, comprehensively considering whether the stepparent actually provided daily care, fulfilled family education responsibilities, and bore support costs during cohabitation. Article 19 stipulates that after divorce between the biological father and stepmother or biological mother and stepfather, the rights and obligations between the stepparent and stepchild no longer apply the provisions on parent-child relationships.
